Breastfeeding and TTC
I am torn about if I should stop breastfeeding to TTC. My little guy is only 10 and half months and I am not ready to take that away from him or me! I had a mirena IUD in for 9 months after I gave birth and never had a period with it in. So I don't know if I am ovulating or not. I am not waiting for a period we are going to go ahead and start TTC. And I am going to continue to feed my little guy and connect with him. When he hits 12 months I will start to cut back on some feedings and gradually reduce it but keep his and my fav night time feeding and morning feeding. But that is 2 months off and I will cross that bridge when I come to it. Many people have gotten preggo while breast feeding. It is not reliable. They say your chances greatly improve if: your child is older than 6 months, you are not exclusively breastfeeding, they eat solids, and sleep for longer stretches through the night or you go more than four hours between feedings. So that at least ups my chances I don't know!

I have been going through this as well. I decided to keep breast feeding. I have done some research and I have found conflicting information. I decided to keep b/f and hopefully she will wean herself.
ReplyDeleteI think I am going to too. If you do get pregnant a baby might wean themselves from the taste of the milk.
